Dr. Marcel Sargeant, PhD
Dr. Marcel Sargeant currently serves as the Vice President for Institutional Research and Effectiveness at Southwestern Adventist University. He began his tenure at the university in 2002, bringing with him a wealth of knowledge and expertise that has significantly contributed to the institution’s growth and academic excellence. In his current role as VP, Dr. Sargeant oversees critical areas related to institutional research, strategic planning, and effectiveness. He is responsible for leading data-driven initiatives that support continuous improvement, accreditation processes, and informed decision-making across the university.

Davenee James
As an Institutional Research Analyst, he supports Student Success grant objectives by providing relevant data. He conducts data analysis, ad-hoc reporting, and creates Power BI dashboards to track student achievement, enrollment, retention, and graduation rates. He trains faculty and staff on Watermark solutions to enhance data-driven decision-making. Additionally, he develops reports using Argos and manages institutional surveys and course evaluations. As the web developer for the Institutional Research site, he designs and maintains the platform to ensure data accessibility and impact.
