If English is not your native language, you must demonstrate English proficiency to be admitted to Southwestern Adventist University. You can meet this requirement through one of the following exam scores or academic qualifications.

Accepted English Proficiency Tests
You must submit at least one of the following minimum scores:

• TOEFL: 550 (paper), 65 (new paper), 235 (computer), or 85 (internet)
• IELTS: 6.5
• iTEP: 3.9
• PTE Academic: 55
• GTEC: 1220
• MET: 80
• ACT English section: 17
• SAT ERW section: 480

Alternative Qualification
You may also meet the English proficiency requirement by transferring at least 24 semester credit hours from a college or university where English is the language of instruction.
