Each year, Southwestern Adventist University students must reapply for financial aid to ensure eligibility for federal, state, and institutional support. The renewal process is straightforward, and our team is here to help guide you every step of the way.
For U.S. Citizens and Permanent Residents
Step 1: Complete the FAFSA
To be considered for federal and state aid, complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online.
Include SWAU’s school code: 003619
- Start at studentaid.gov
- Both students and parents need an FSA ID
Step 2: Check Your Financial Aid Status
Once submitted, we will review your FAFSA. If additional documentation is required (such as tax returns or verification forms), you will be notified through your student portal and email.
Step 3: Submit Any Requested Forms
All forms must be submitted through your student portal or in person at the Financial Aid Office. Required forms may include:
- Verification Worksheet
- Tax Return Transcript or IRS Non-Filer Statement
- W-2 Forms or proof of income
For International and DACA Students
Students who are not eligible to complete the FAFSA may still be considered for limited institutional aid.
- Submit updated proof of income or financial support
- Contact Student Financial Services to confirm documentation requirements
- Aid packages are reviewed annually
