Southwestern Adventist University Mourns the Loss of Student Wizan “Wiz” Sebulburo

KEENE, TEXAS — Southwestern Adventist University is deeply saddened to share the passing of Wizan (Wiz) Sebulburo, a beloved student and member of the Southwestern community. Wiz passed away on Friday evening, October 17, 2025, while swimming in Tennessee during the university’s Fall Holiday break.
Wiz was a Radio, TV, and Film Emphasis major known for his creativity, leadership, and vibrant spirit. His videos were frequently featured on campus and social media, and he served as the Student Association Public Relations Director, where he used his talents to uplift and connect others.
“Wiz was a bright light on our campus,” said Ana Patterson, president of Southwestern Adventist University. “He had a deep love for God and a remarkable gift for creativity. His joyful presence, kindness, and leadership made a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. Our prayers and deepest sympathies are with the Sebulburo family and all who are grieving this tremendous loss.”
The Counseling Center and Office of Spiritual Life and Development are available to provide support for students, faculty, and staff. A Candlelight Service of Remembrance will be held Monday, October 20, at 8:00 p.m. at the university amphitheater to honor Wiz’s life and legacy.
