Southwestern Adventist University (SWAU) follows a continuous five-step assessment process to improve student learning, accountability, and institutional effectiveness.
-
Set Outcomes – Programs define clear, measurable learning outcomes aligned with SWAU’s mission and accreditation standards.
-
Assess Outcomes – Faculty use exams, portfolios, projects, or surveys to measure achievement against established benchmarks.
-
Analyze Results – Data are reviewed to see if outcomes are met and to identify areas needing improvement.
-
Implement Changes – Programs adjust curriculum, teaching, or resources based on findings to enhance learning.
-
Reflect & Revise – Faculty evaluate the impact of changes and share best practices for ongoing improvement.
This cycle ensures continuous enhancement of teaching, learning, and accountability.
