Let’s Get You Started
Southwestern Adventist University welcomes first-year students who are ready to grow, learn, and lead. Whether you are graduating from public school, private school, or homeschool, we are excited to help you take the next step toward your future.
Test-Optional Institution
Our admissions process is straightforward and student-friendly. We are a test-optional institution, which means SAT or ACT scores are not required for admission. However, we encourage you to submit your scores if available, as they may qualify you for additional scholarship opportunities.
Admission Requirements
To apply as a first-year student, submit one of the following:
- An official high school transcript with six or more semesters from an accredited school and a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher
- GED test scores: a general average of 500 with no section below 450, or a Texas GED score of 160-200
A final official transcript with your graduation date is required upon completion of your senior year.
Key Dates
- March 1: Priority application and scholarship deadline for fall enrollment
- May 1: Commitment deposit due to reserve your place in the incoming class
- August 1: Final deadline to apply for the fall semester
