A Southwestern Adventist University education is within financial reach for students from a wide range of backgrounds.
Whether you are a first-year applicant or transfer student, applying for financial aid is a key part of the enrollment process, and we are here to walk you through every step.
Financial aid at SWAU is awarded based on demonstrated need, not merit or athletic achievement. We encourage all eligible students to apply early and explore their options.
Application Steps
Step 1: Apply for Admission
Before you can receive any federal or state financial aid, you must be accepted to SWAU.
Apply to SWAU or contact Enrollment at 817-202-6749 to check your status.
Step 2: Complete the FAFSA
To be considered for federal and state aid, complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online.
Include SWAU’s school code: 003619
- Start at studentaid.gov
- Both students and parents need an FSA ID
Step 3: Meet With a Financial Counselor
Once your FAFSA is submitted and you’re accepted, our Student Financial Services team will help finalize your aid package. You may be asked to provide additional forms or tax documents. Your counselor will walk you through it all.
Additional Forms and Documentation
- Signed copies of 2023 federal income tax returns for student and parent(s)
- Non-tax filer statements (if applicable)
- W-2s and other income documentation
- SWAU-specific forms (available on our Forms page)
If selected for verification, these documents will be required before aid is finalized.
