Brandon Michael Williams was born June 11, 1982, in Willits, California. He was the second child and only son of Rocky Lee and Elizabeth Luanne Cloud Williams. Brandon was a happy, adorable, loving child, and remained so until his death from an aggressive brain tumor on June 4, 1983, a week before his first birthday.
His parents attended Southwestern Adventist College in 1971-1972, before completing their educations at Loma Linda University, Rocky in occupational therapy, and Luanne in nurse anesthesia. His older sister, Kammy Williams, graduated from Southwestern Adventist University in 2000 with a Bachelor of Arts in International Affairs. Eder graduated in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and then again in 2004 with a master's degree in Business Administration. Brandon's other brother-in-law, Bryan Sellers, also graduated from Southwestern with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems/ Business Administration in 2006.
This scholarship was lovingly established by grandparents, Dr. James and Patricia Cloud, in honor of their children and grandchildren and in memory of their precious grandson, Brandon Michael Williams. In awarding this scholarship, the Clouds wrote, "God be merciful to us and to those young Christians who, in our grandson's name, will help to carry on Jesus' healing dictates."
