Communication is one of the fastest-growing and rapidly changing professional fields in the world today. Employment in media and communication occupations is projected to grow 14 percent from 2020 to 2030, faster than the average for all other occupations. This program at SWAU implements the latest practices and technology to prepare our students for this ever-changing professional landscape while integrating the foundation of Christian principles in the modern world of communication.
The Department of Communication at Southwestern Adventist University provides hands-on practical experience and multi-platform training. Students can choose to study one of three emphases or earn a minor that can be paired with another degree track. With a strong emphasis on internships, each student will gain an insight into public and interpersonal communication that prepares them for their future career.
