Medical Laboratory Science specialists play a crucial role in diagnosing and treating disease through the analysis of patient specimens.
At Southwestern Adventist University, students in this program spend their first three years on campus, followed by a 14-month clinical training period at one of our partner institutions. This structure provides a comprehensive education that blends foundational coursework with advanced clinical experience, preparing graduates for careers in a variety of medical and laboratory settings.
Curriculum and Courses
Our Medical Laboratory Science curriculum combines rigorous academic preparation with hands-on learning. Students build a strong foundation in biology, chemistry, and laboratory practices during their first three years. In their final year, students receive specialized training at one of our affiliate institutions—Tarleton State University in Texas or Andrews University in Michigan—working in state-of-the-art facilities to master advanced diagnostic techniques and procedures.
